Bluff Dale is a town located in the northern region of Texas. The community is positioned in Erath County, the 76th largest county in Texas. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were 41,122 residents in Erath County in 2015. In 2007, there were about 2,000 people living in Bluff Dale.
Bluff Dale was settled by pioneers who called their settlement Bluff Springs due to its location near artesian wells. In 1877, the named was changed to Bluff Dale after a post office was established. Bluff Dale began to experience significant growth after 1889 when the Fort Worth and Rio Grande Railway was constructed. A gentleman named Jack Glenn donated land for a new town site along the rail line. After the town relocated, it prospered very much. In 1908, Bluff Dale was incorporated.
Although Bluff Dale is small, the town has a lot of character and several points of interest. There are many places to eat and relax in Bluff Dale. The town is home to Wilfong’s Cajun Restaurant, Let’s Eat, and the Greenwood Saloon. These three are very popular among residents and tourists and provide individuals good food, relaxing atmospheres, and true southern hospitality. Also, Bluff Dale is located a short distance from the Brazos River and Lake Granbury. Individuals who visit these are encouraged to swim, boat, and fish.
